Permanent Account Number (PAN) is one of the most important identification numbers. It is issued by the tax department to an individual. PAN is a mandatory document to carry out financial transactions within the country as well as overseas. Now it is also mandatory to share your PAN number for carrying out high-value transactions. If you fail to provide the PAN number you will have to face a penalty.
What To Do When You Don’t Have a PAN?
If you have not made your PAN, or it is lost your pan card, all you can do is apply for a new pan and wait for at least 15 days to receive the same. But now, the Department of Tax has made the process of getting a new PAN easy and quick. You can have the new pan instantly, provided you have your Aadhaar Card. The new card issuance process uses Aadhaar based eKYC. There are no charges involved in getting PAN this way.
How To Get a PAN Card With Aadhaar KYC?
Anyone who has a valid Aadhaar number and mobile number registered with UIDAI can apply for instant PAN. Here is how you can apply for the card.

Visit the new portal of the income tax department, and in the section, go to the option Instant PAN.

This facility provides e-PAN in PDF format on a real-time basis.
Click on the option Get new E-PAN.
A dialogue box will open asking for a few details. At first, enter your Aadhaar Card number and click on options seeking your affirmation.

My active mobile number is linked with Aadhaar.

My complete details of the birth are available on Aadhaar.

I am not a minor as on the application date of Permanent Account Number.
Upon completing this formality, you would receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. After entering the same, you would receive your 15 digits acknowledgement number.
Soon, you will receive a copy of lost your PAN card along with the date and time on the email ID registered with the Aadhaar Number.
How To Track Instant PAN Application Status?
The install PAN offers you the facility to track your application status by using the acknowledgement number. For this, click on the link ‘Instant PAN Through Aadhaar’ and then click on the option ‘Check Status of PAN’. Enter the Aadhaar number at the provided space to receive OTP on your Aadhaar registered mobile number.
Enter the same, and check the status of whether the PAN is allotted to you or not.
